1. Getting to Know You

At Lightcube, we offer a variety of lighting services. From visualising ideas to installation. As individual building projects would be at different stages, they will require differing services.

Right from the start, we’d love to get to know more about you and your project. And we believe that meeting up with our consultants is the best way to do so…

2. Booking an Appointment

We welcome walk-ins, however, to ensure that we are available, you could either call us or fill out an appointment form to book a consultation appointment with us.

Residential consultations are absolutely complimentary, so why hesitate? Just send us the following items prior to your consultation so we can come up with a proposal ready for discussion:

  • Electrical plan (emailed to us in PDF)
  • Floor plan

3. The Consultation

Consultations normally last about 1-2 hours depending on the stage and scale of your project.

What you will walk away with

  2. Quotation (once all products are finalised)
  3. Information and specifications of selected products

5. Installation

If you have your own electrician, you are welcome to go ahead with the implementation of your plans.

However, don’t worry if you don’t have one. Feel free to let our consultant know about it.

At Lightcube, we have licensed electricians for all installation jobs. They will be done to the latest Australian/New Zealand Standard for Wiring Rules (AS/NZS 3000) at a competitive rate.

If you require more than just a basic lighting plot, we have a qualified consultant (IES member) to assist you.

Please contact us directly to speak to our consultant on the applicable rates for services not limited to:

1. Lighting Design Services

Lightcube keeps up to date with the latest LED lighting technologies and trends worldwide. Therefore, we can offer you a suitable lighting solution for any project in Australia.

We also offer an in-house design service which affords clients the opportunity to receive professional advice for their lighting requirements. Professional CAD documentation, BCA calculations and complete fitting specifications are all included in the service, ensuring that the needs of each client are met.

2. Light Calculation Modelling – Dialux

The use of 3D light calculation modelling is another service available to our clients to provide a virtual representation of projects, along with the expected light output and distribution achieved. When used in conjunction with a false colour render, we ensure that key areas of a design are addressed and specific project requirements are met.

Dialux is lighting calculation software for professional light planning. The Dialux program is independent from lighting manufacturers and therefore provides an overall image of the lighting scheme. It is important to achieve desired levels along with meeting Australian Standards, and meet the aims of the lighting design, in regards to uniformity or contrast as desired by the client.

3. 3D Rendering of your Lighting Design

A complex lighting design or client-specific request may make measuring and presenting your lighting design in 3D necessary. We convert your floor plan CAD files (from architect or shopfitter) to 3D using Dialux software to measure lux levels of the illuminated space. Doing so, we ensure that the entire plan complies with BCA standards.

4. BCA Compliance

The Building Code of Australia (BCA) is a uniform set of technical provisions for the design and construction of buildings and other structures throughout Australia, whilst allowing for variations in climate, geological and/or geographic conditions. In short it contains regulations on health, safety, amenity and sustainability within the design, construction and performance of buildings. The requirements for energy efficient lighting design can be found under section J6 of the BCA.

We are proud to be able to state that every design we produce is according to the BCA’s requirements relating to lighting. With every lighting design we supply, we also provide a customised BCA calculation outlining the total designed wattage of each project. This means that we strongly take into account the energy efficiency and sustainability of our products.

In 2012, the BCA was incorporated into the NCC (National Construction Code). The NCC has been developed by the Council of Australian Governments to incorporate all on-site construction requirements into a single code.

A Lighting Efficiency Retrofit Upgrade will reduce your energy bill and improve the quality of your lighting.

Lightcube provides an end-to-end lighting retrofit solution (also referred to as energy efficient lighting upgrades) that offers your business a consultation and assessment of your current lighting design. This solution includes a comprehensive report compiled by lighting consultants who will demonstrate the proposed energy/financial savings, lighting improvements, product supply, project management, installation, and J6 compliance.

There are 4 simple steps to saving energy:

1. Assessment

As part of your energy efficiency lighting upgrade we will assess your building once a commitment agreement is signed. We can then start to determine your current lighting specifications and power consumption.

2. Report and Design

We provide your business with a comprehensive assessment including a demonstration of the costs and energy your business could save by undertaking a lighting retrofit.

3. Supply

As part of the detailed building assessment report, Lightcube will specify and ultimately supply the perfect lighting product for your requirements. We supply a wide range of energy efficient lighting solutions which use the latest technologies and highest efficiencies.

4. Installation

Our qualified technical team and electrical contractors will undertake the installation of your new lighting with minimal disruption to your business while adhering to strict occupational, health and safety procedures.
